Our Therapist

Paul Kawkabany is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Psychotherapist (LOP #19065) with over seven years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy, psychological assessment, and professional training across diverse mental health settings. He holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and a Master’s degree in Educational and School Psychology from the Lebanese University and has conducted more than 7,000 therapy sessions in hospitals, rehabilitation centers, private clinics, and online platforms.

Paul specializes in working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, emotional dysregulation, personality disorders, suicidality, OCD, ADHD in adults, and stress-related and health-related difficulties. His work is grounded in evidence-based practice, with advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Schema Therapy, and trauma-focused interventions.

Therapy with Paul begins with careful understanding. The first sessions focus on getting to know the client’s story, current difficulties, personal strengths, and goals, while assessing whether the therapeutic relationship and approach feel like the right fit. Treatment is then developed collaboratively through a structured yet flexible plan tailored to each person’s needs, values, and life context.

Ongoing sessions integrate practical therapeutic skills, emotional regulation, trauma processing, cognitive and behavioral interventions, problem identification and problem-solving, and deeper psychological exploration. A core aim of therapy is to help clients develop insight, autonomy, and lasting skills so they can gradually become their own therapists and sustain change beyond the therapy room.

In addition to clinical practice, Paul is the Founder and Director of Masarat Clinic in Lebanon. He is also a university instructor and an experienced trainer and coordinator for CBT, DBT, and ACT study groups at multiple levels. He has played a key role in developing Arabic-language CBT training programs and has delivered workshops, webinars, and professional trainings across the Arab region.

Paul is the author of several Arabic books on CBT and psychological wellbeing and is known for integrating scientific rigor with cultural sensitivity. His work aims to make evidence-based psychotherapy accessible, practical, and meaningful within the lived realities of clients and clinicians alike.

He offers therapy in both in-person and online formats, providing a safe, collaborative, and compassionate space for psychological growth and healing.
